This isolated region, aspring-fed wetland in the middle of the Chihuahuan Desert, has givenrise to some of the most uniquely adapted flora and fauna on Earth.

小蜗牛，Cuatro Cienegas，墨西哥 1995                                                                        一群微小的水生蜗牛放在被成为poza的淡水池里，在墨西哥cuatro cienegas生物保护区。这个孤立的地区是中部奇华胡安沙漠沙漠中的一个春季湿地，这里生活着一些地球上最独特的植物和动物。
